Love the food! Love the ambience! Love the friendly & warm service by the team at this Trattoria la Torre! Order was taken promptly & food were served quickly to fill our hungry stomach, after a long walk around the old town in Sienna The Italian desserts (can’t remember what they are called but you can see the pictures) are really nice. Not too sweet & went very well with a cup of coffee! I wish I had spent a few days in Sienna instead of just a day visit so I can come here to try out their other dishes

Nestled just steps from Piazza del Campo, Trattoria la Torre is everything you hope to find in Siena: authentic, welcoming, and deeply rooted in Tuscan tradition. This family-run trattoria has earned its reputation for hearty portions, homemade pastas, and genuine hospitality. The menu isn’t always printed; instead, the staff share the day’s offerings with warmth and pride, giving each visit the feel of a personal invitation. From the rustic dining room to the charming alley seating, every detail reflects Siena’s character. Pair that with local wines like Chianti and the comforting flavors of regional classics, and it’s no wonder locals and seasoned travelers alike recommend this spot. Our dinner there was extraordinary. The Florentine steak, sautéed spinach, Tagliatelle and Pici al ragù, and Piselli al prosciutto were each outstanding—rich, flavorful, and prepared with the kind of care only a true trattoria can deliver. A glass of Chianti elevated the meal perfectly. This visit came on the glowing recommendation of a couple we’d met in Florence at Dalla Lola—regulars who insisted we try La Torre—and they couldn’t have been more right. As wonderful as the food was, what made the evening unforgettable was meeting Rubel, who served and guided us through the experience. Rubel’s presence was magnetic. His personality radiated kindness and warmth, and his way of connecting with people was inspiring. Later that night, My wife and I agreed that meeting him was the best part of Siena. Rubel’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. Born in Bangladesh and raised in Thailand, he spent five years as a monk before beginning a worldly path that led him to France, where he worked with a football organization, and then to Siena to be with his brother. Starting humbly as a dishwasher at Trattoria la Torre, Rubel rose to manager in just five years, mastering Italian in only three months along the way. His story is one of resilience, discipline, and gratitude. Over dinner, Rubel shared not only the traditions of Siena, like the famous Palio horse race, but also his perspective on Buddhism, karma, and life itself. His outlook was nothing short of a WOW—a reminder of how perspective and kindness can transform any moment. Dining at Trattoria la Torre was far more than a meal. It was an experience that blended Siena’s culinary traditions with the human connection that makes travel meaningful. Between the food, the atmosphere, and Rubel’s unforgettable presence, it’s a memory we’ll carry long after Siena. --- About Trattoria La Torre It is an authentically Tuscan eatery tucked beneath the iconic Torre del Mangia in Siena's Piazza del Campo, offering both charm and culinary tradition. Trattoria La Torre is a cozy, family-run trattoria located at Via di Salicotto 7–9, just steps from Piazza del Campo in Siena . The ambiance is informal, intimate, and warm—often described as homely, with the chef working visibly in a small open kitchen . The menu celebrates typical Tuscan fare using fresh, local ingredients: Homemade pasta is a highlight: dishes like ravioli with sage butter and pici with rich wild boar (cinghiale) ragù are especially beloved Cinghiale alla cacciatore, ribollita (a hearty Tuscan soup), ossobuco alla Torre, and house-made desserts like ricciarelli and cantucci con vin santo. Warm hospitality is frequently praised. Many reviews mention the friendly, welcoming staff that makes diners feel at home. The inviting atmosphere, open kitchen, and small dining space contribute to an authentic and comfortable experience .

The best ragù pasta experience we’ve had on our trip to Italy so far. The wine paired perfectly with the food, adding to an already memorable meal. The customer service was excellent, and I especially loved that we were the only tourists there at lunch – it felt authentic and special to be dining among local customers. Well priced also.

Wonderful gluten free pasta with bolognese sauce! Delicious GF almond cookies too. Perfecto!

Excellent food and service. Highly recommend. We had sulami and cheese anti pasta to start and a ravioli in sage butter and a pici e Pepe. All pasta is homemade in the small kitchen. Service is great. Please note, they don’t have a printed menu. Look at wall on way into restaurant. In addition, the server will tell you what fresh pasta and sauce they have. You won’t be disappointed.

The best ossobuco i had in tuscany. It was not too salty meat was super tender fits really well with the spinach which was highly recommended by the service. He was super friendly and very attentive to us . The tiramisu was very special it was the best i ever had. Can you maybe message me for the recipe? If i ever go back to Siena i will come back here again.

This was a wonderful restaurant! We had delicious pastas and enjoyed the best desserts. Our waiter was very kind and patient. Such a cute place right near the square! Highly recommend

Absolutely beyond impressed with this restaurant. My partner and I walked past at lunch and it smelt like a flavourful ragu. We decided that we would go for dinner. We came for dinner and were greeted by the owner who spoke very little English but with my Spanish we were able to have a basic conversation. I already looked at the reviews online so I knew what I wanted. We started off with the house wine and it was great! Than the wild boar Picci and it was absolutely delicious. The star of the show was the ossobuco which was absolutely incredible. The owner also convinced us to have some of the ossobuco sauce with some spaghetti and it was heavenly. Overall best dining experience me and my partner have had in a very long time and best in Italy. We will definitely come back
